Admiral Irosoku Yamamoto

Irosoku Yamamoto was the "cheif architect" of the Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor and Midway. Born on April 4, 1884. When he was just 16 he joined the Imperial Japanese Naval Academy. Yamamoto was recognized for his leadership skills and was sent to naval staff college in 1913. He went to Harvard University to study the oil industry, upon his return to Japan he was promoted to captin, and finnaly in 1939 he became commander-in-cheif of the combined fleet. Yamamoto was apposed to any war with the United States previously, but finnaly gave in after signing the triparticipate pact with Italy and Germany, bringing Japan into World War 2.
General Chester W. Nimitz

General Chester Nimitz was the commander of the United States pacific fleet during the battle of Midway. Born on Feburary 24, 1885. He joined the U.S. Naval academy in 1901, afterwards he was appointed to the Asiatic fleet where he controlled a small gunboat and a destroyer. In 1913 he returned to the United states and was assigned submarine duty where he became well known as being a expert at underwater warfare. He was promoted to luitenant commander and began the construction of Pearl Harbor's submarine base in 1920. Next he was assigned to the naval war college, then he became commander of submarine division 20. After 3 years at the Berau of Navigation in Washington D.C. He became rear admiral. Finnaly after the attack at Pearl Harbor he became real admiral.
Vice Admiral Frank Fletcher

Frank Fletcher was in command of the American task force at the Battle of Coral Sea and also fought in the Battle of Midway. He was born on April 29, 1885. Fletcher graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1906 and commanded the USS Dale in the asiatic fleet. He also won the Medal of Honor for rescuing refugees from the transport ship Esperanza. Fletcher went to the Naval War College and the Army War College. For 3 years he was aide to the secratary of navy and then in 1939 was promoted to rear admiral. Fletcher helped to win the Battle of Coral Sea and his planes from the Yorktown sunk the Soryu.
Vice Admiral Chuichi Nagumo

Chuichi Nagumo was the one who executed the attacks on Pearl Harbor. He was born in 1886 and graduated from the Japanese Naval Academy in 1908. He became a torpedo specialist and had and abundace of sea going expirence. His force was sent to midway to supress American forces and provide striking power against warships. He was unsuccessful and all 4 of his carriers were sunk.
